Madagascar Jasmine
Hello Friends,
Per a search with Google lens, this plant is "... Stephanotis floribunda, commonly known as Madagascar Jasmine, a prominent cluster of star-shaped, five-petaled white flowers ... the blossoms have a distinctively waxy texture and a tubular base ... thick, glossy, and dark green leathery oval leaves ... native to the tropical forests of Madagascar ... it thrives in bright, indirect sunlight, warm temperatures, and high humidity.
I shot this recently at the Bluff Heights (Long Beach) Garden Tour with my Panasonic Lumix GX7 with 3D lens, using frame sides for phantogram processing.
As I write this I'm in my room at the Clyde Hotel in Albequerque, New Mexico. Since Tuesday I've been attending the 2026 3D-Con, a national gathering of 3-D photography enthusiasts, many who've become close friends over the years. My first 3D-Con was in 2004.
It's been a beyond crazy week for our Mad King Donald, as he spews a continuous stream of noxious lies about mostly himself but also our country and the world. Madness is the only thing that describes his performance. He's still keeping to the notion that the 2020 election was stolen from him, and in fact it's clear that to work in his administration no one is allowed to say Trump legitimately lost that election. Rather this week we saw Attorney General nominee Todd Blanche and National Security Advisor nominee Jay Clayton elaborately dance around the simple question of "who won the 2020 election."
In a clear showing of his desperation Trump gave a speech about election integrity and cheating, mainly as a way of showcasing how he's bound and determined to do everything he can to cheat in the upcoming 2026 mid-terms. His sense of entitlement to power is astonishing, and I have no doubt but that we're in for some rough times in the next 4 months. His enablers in congress still seem mostly willing to play along so as to try to maintain their power. God help us!
Wishing for better,
Barry Rothstein
