Two Cactus Blossoms
I've become a big fan of cactus blossoms, and feel fortunate that I can find a wide variety of them in our neighborhood. A small cactus we've had in our yard regularly produces blossoms such as these two. The same cactus produced an amazing cluster of 10 blossoms a few years ago, click here to see that image.
I shot this with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 on a cloudy morning full of diffuse light, using frame sides for phantogram processing. The width of this image was approximately 3-1/2 inches.
Welcome to my "image-of-the-week" blog to new folks from last weekend's National Stereoscopic Association's 3D-Con, a fun and exhausting four day event. This was the NSA's second virtual convention, but hopefully we'll have an in person event in Tacoma, Washington next year, along with a virtual element.
For anyone interested in learning to make "tabletop phantograms", I'll be holding a zoom workshop on Saturday, September 18 at 10am pacific time, hosted by the Los Angeles 3D Club. I'm not yet seeing a zoom link of the LA3dClub's website for it, but when I have that information I'll include it in future image-of-the-week emails. Tabletop phants are the best way to start making phantograms, and they can be a lot easier than most people think.
I'll be teaching:
1) how to shoot a tabletop phantogram with just a) a sheet of paper; and b) a cellphone (or any digital 2D or stereo camera).

I send out a weekly email of these. If you'd like to be included, please go to the contact page and send me an email.
