Doorwerth Castle
Doorwerth Castle (Dutch: Kasteel Doorwerth) is a medieval castle situated on the river Rhine near the city of Arnhem, Netherlands. We visited it on an excursion during the ISU 2025 World Congress this past August.
I took these shot cha-cha style with my Google Pixel 9 Pro cellphone, shooting the left eye image and then sliding over approximately for the right eye shot. I slid over 8-10 feet for the upper shot and perhaps 8-10 inches for the lower shot. From there it was auto-aligned in StereoPhoto Maker, and cleaned up a little more in Photoshop.
Thanksgiving is coming next week, and I have plenty to be thankful for in terms of my own comforts and security. I wish I could be content with the state of things in our country and the world, but I'm not. Our government has become a horrific clown show where competence, equality and the rule of law take a back seat to loyalty to Trump and his petty revenges. Even while Trump's popularity and power are slipping, the damage he and his enablers have brought down on us is awful and perhaps irreversible.
