Miner's Lettuce
Hello Friends,
Quick note: My email and website is back up and running, having switched to a new webhost company. I'm still having a little trouble with people being able to order books and such on the website, it'll bomb when completing an order and trying to email me the data and you an acknowledgment, so for now if you want anything please email me at barry@3ddigitalphoto.com
Per Wikipedia, Claytonia_perfoliata, commonly known as miner's lettuce, rooreh, Indian lettuce, or winter purslane, is a flowering plant in the family Montiaceae. Is miner's lettuce edible? Yes, the leave and stems are edible. It's very similar to spinach and lettuce so you can't really overeat these plants. The leaf is full of vitamin C, vitamin A and iron and can be eaten raw or cooked. I found this plant in the garden of some friends in Seattle last year.

Not much to say about the news this week other than instead of making America "great again" the current administration is trying to make us more stupid, ignorant, weak, sick, less safe, and very pissed off. Fortunately most of the court battles have been going against them. Perhaps many to most of the government employees who've been fired will be reinstated, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.
One form of protest available to you TODAY, March 15, on the "ides of March" is to send a letter or postcard to our president telling him what you think of him and his policies, effectively overwhelming the postal system with a flood of mail for the white house. If you choose to do so, address to "President Donald Trump, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Washington D.C. 20500".
Wishing us better times and competence in our government,
Barry Rothstein
I send out a weekly email of these. If you'd like to be included, please go to the contact page and send me an email.
