Vitex
Hello Friends,
Per an online search, ... "The flower pictured is likely a Chaste tree or Vitex (Vitex agnus-castus). This plant, also known as Monk's Pepper or Chasteberry, is a deciduous shrub or small tree that produces fragrant, showy spikes of lavender to violet flowers during the summer. The specific variety might be 'Shoal Creek', known for its large, vibrant flower clusters. The flowers are attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators."
I shot it at at Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam with my Panasonic Lumix GX7 macro camera with 3D lens, using frame sides for phantogram processing.
At the moment I'm in the process of recovering from the hard drive on my laptop computer crashing this past Monday, taking with it not the original images, those were still on SD cards in the cameras, but months of my efforts on those images. It's still possible I'll recover data from the drive. If not hopefully I'll learn a lesson and back up my files more frequently.
It's been another hellish week, especially in Minnesota, Minnesotans showing us what it means to support their neighbors, and fight for democracy and decency. We'll be joining a memorial tomorrow in solidarity with Minnesotans and their front line dealings with ICE. I'd strongly suggest that if you've not yet been to a protest, look around and go to one. You'll find yourself surrounded by nice, kind, friendly folks hanging out and having fun -- true patriots fighting for democracy and our rights by showing up and being counted.
Brave New World and 1984 have nothing on what's happening in the Trump administration now. Trump and his buddies are doing everything in their power to grab power and keep power. Also grab money, of course. Straight out of the playbook of authoritarian regimes throughout time, horrifically, amazingly, shamelessly, and pathetically, the Department of Justice just arrested independent journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort for covering protests. Wow!
Wishing for better,
Barry Rothstein
