The Thinker and Rembrandt
Hello Friends,
"The Thinker" is a well known bronze sculpture by French artist Auguste Rodin. If you don't know the sculpture, do a quick online search. It was ... "originally conceived as part of his larger work The Gates of Hell to represent the poet Dante." This fun upper image knockoff/homage was created by artist Joseph Klibansky, and is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands in Rembrandt Square (Rembrandtplein).
The lower image sits across the square from the astronaut thinker. It's a sculpture of Rembrandt.
I took these as cha-cha shots with my Google Pixel 9 Pro cellphone from perhaps 30 feet away with an approximate one foot distance between the left-eye and right-eye shots. Because of the complex backdrops with a lot of movenent, I masked and eliminated all but the statues in Photoshop, then auto-aligned them in StereoPhoto Maker. I've often been amazed at how well metalic colors work in anaglyph.
No political rant this week, although I'm sure our president would like these sculptures, ... so much gold.
Wishing you well,
Barry Rothstein
