Cactus Blossom and Hands Off Protest
Hello Friends,
Here is a cactus blossom from our front yard. The plant and its blossoms have been featured in other image-of-the-weeks. This was on its first day open and pretty spectacular. I shot it with my Panasonic Lumix GX7 with 3D lens, using frame sides for phantogram processing.
Today there were thousands of ‘Hands Off’ protests across US and Europe to oppose the Trump agenda. Live protesters gathered at more than a thousand events across the US and in cities abroad, such as London, Berlin and Paris. We attended a protest close to home in Lakewood, California. Here's Betsy with the sign we made with an ugly Trump mask. We got quite a lot of attention for the 3D aspect of the sign, and dozens of protesters asked to take a photo of it. I shot it with my Fuji W3, and auto-aligned, cropped and converted it into a half-color anaglyph with StereoPhoto Maker.
This was a banner week for the Trump administration and for the rest of the world if a banner week can include punishing tariffs, betrayal of our allies and the plummeting of stock markets. Trump's self-inflicted damage should be enough for his wealthy GOP and Maga supporters, and House and Senate republicans to turn on him, but I'm not holding my breath.
Hang in there,
Barry Rothstein
