How Many Blossoms

Hi All,

I bought a potted cactus from a neighbor who was moving away from Long Beach to re-settle with his family back in rural Kentucky. I paid $20 for it, and I'd have to say it was a bargain. Perhaps three of four times each year I get amazing blossoms from it. Click here to see a shot with two blossoms from 2014.

The petals are translucent, so that the outer periphery of this bunch appears darker than the inside.

At first I'd get one blossom, then two, and with each blooming it seems there are more. Can you tell how many how many individual blossoms make up this bunch?

This was shot with a Fujifilm W3 with frame sides for phantogram processing. I masked out the background for more dramatic effect.
