African Tortoise

Hello Friends,

I was looking through some older image-of-the-week selections and found this one from a few years ago, which can be found at https://3ddigitalphoto.com/ImageofTheWeek.asp?week=01-14-2023 except without the thru-the-window masking effect. I really like this images so thought it worth another look with the effect. I found this tortoise in a Long Beach backyard when I was helping to look for houses with my sister. I shot it with my Fuji W3 and converted it into a phantogram by approximating a rectangle around the tortoise and matching up corner pixels, then masking around for the effect.

It has been a very strange time in the political life of the USA. On the one hand I'm glad to live through it and hope to come out alive on the other side. Trump's obsessive need to stick his name on everything and demand everyone to recognize he's doing a great job and deserves to be considered as one of the greatest men in history is pathetic beyond anything this country has ever seen. Just as bad are the republicans who understand what he's done, and continue to enable him. I'd say he's become a laughing stock for the entire rest of the world, but I don't think many people are laughing about the damage he's inflicting and likely the millions of lives ended or worsened by his awful policies. A reckoning is coming but not soon enough.
