A World of Vision (and a Rant)

Hi All,

Another exhibitor I enjoyed at Maker Faire was Sci-Arc. From their website at https://sciarc.edu/ ... "SCI-Arc is a world-renowned center of innovation and one of the nation's few independent architecture school, offering undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programs. We are dedicated to educating architects who will imagine and shape the future." I offer two view of this piece of this piece of their display, its elements created by 3-D printing.

I shot them with a hand held Fuji W3, having created rectangular sides to the shots for phantogram processing with paper and their brochures.

Now for the rant, and if you don't like my anti-Trump rants, please click to this email or unsubscribe. I was taught in childhood that silence in these matters denotes complicity, so today I can't and won't be silent.

The unthinkable has become our daily national and global discourse, as a mad man is dragging the country and world into reality TV hell. I'm sick of his voice and the media's requirement to report what he says and does. He has nothing of value to say, and his actions go against every tenet of a free society.

If it isn't enough merely to sacrifice clean air, clean water, clean power, and a place of leadership in protecting the future of mankind on this planet, this man legitimizes and promotes white supremacy and racism. Now we can live with the terror and shame of USA government agents tearing immigrant children from their parents and warehousing them in concentration camps. This is a perilous path.

To those of you reading this who live outside the USA, I apologize on behalf of our culture for putting him in power and you at risk. Know that many of us here are working to bring his power to an end, and until then we're counting on you to hold this world to a higher standard. We're all in this together.

Our supposed leaders in congress' majority party choose to keep quiet, mainly to cling to their jobs, but their silence is deafening and complicit in dragging down our country and the world. My remaining pride in the USA comes only from the hope and perhaps misplaced belief that we will soon reject and eject Trump's America, and that the backlash that brings down this corrupt administration provides a valuable lesson of the fragility of our way of life and the dangers a populist demagogue poses to it.
