Monsters Still Out There
Hello Friends,
Usually at this paragraph in my email I provide a link to my website where you could see this week's and all other images, but due to technical difficulties I won't be able to do that on this one. I'm temporarily without my workhorse laptop computer, so I'm a little handicapped this week.
To maintain some degree of sanity I've opted to repeat an image I called "Monsters" and used as an image-of-the-week back in May 2019. The monster in the image was created by local Long Beach artist Christopher Wheeler out of a variety of discarded plastic junk. It was shot with a Fuji W3 using frame sides for phantogram processing and newspaper for the backdrop.
I've been feeling a mini-rant running through me for a while, so I'll let it out here and keep it brief. I know I'm just preaching to the choir.
Truly there are monsters among us, currently headed by a man named Putin in Russia. Despised and condemned by most of the civilized world, Putin is still supported by our disgraced ex-president, who without any evidence still claims he won the 2020 election and demands others in his party to support this claim.
Something else that really bugs me is how so called "leaders" of Trump's party find it expedient to blame our current president Biden for all the woes in this world. I'll say it plainly that I think our uncle Joe has done an amazing job in office despite the hand he was dealt. His administration has admirably brought us through a global pandemic admirably, and has created an atmosphere of unity and trust with the democracies of the world to isolate Putin and fight authoritarianism.
We must stand with Ukraine, or surely we all shall fall.
