Sunset Tall (and a short rant)
Hi All,
Shortly after learning to make tabletop phantograms I turned my attention to outdoor nature shots. Coming up with rectangular structures to define my stereo windows was a challenge. I solved this by buying a number of lengths of metal picture frames, which I could carry and assemble quickly and easily.
For the sake of mentioning it, this is my 400th 'image-of-the-week'. It was shot at the Huntington Library's gardens in San Marino, California, and it is one of the most popular images in my first book, Phantograms from Nature, Western USA (2005).
As to the rant: This week we saw significant damage to our country in the misuse of presidential power to politicize national security. John Brennan and a great number of top former and current officials are under attack, because they know too much and are willing to stand up for us. Meanwhile congress remains largely silent, prefering to cling to their jobs than stand up for American values. A time of reckoning is coming, and it will cost us all dearly.
