He's All Cock and No Doodle
Hi All,
To my knowledge I've never introduced politics into this blog, but at this time, I can not remain silent. It's too important.
First credit where credit due. When I decided to do this post I considered an appropriate image, and asked Betsy for her input. She suggested the rooster shot, which clearly works. She also contributed the title phrase 'all cock and no doodle'.
If you're a Trump supporter and are pissed off by this, please hit unsubscribe link at the bottom, and I'm sorry I've offended you. Or just delete it, or send me a nasty email back, I deserve it. To me the man is a plague on our house, a national embarrassment, and far worse, a danger to our freedoms, our way of life, and to the world as a whole.
Not wishing to draw on an unfair comparison, but to the point, Adolph Hitler campaigned on making Germany great again. He named scapegoats and got a lot of people killed, including a terrible number of his own countrymen, women and children.
How about Hillary? She's been 30 years in public life, much of it working for children's causes. Give her her due: she's tried hard to do some very good things, and has accomplished some of them.
So if after 30 years of living in the slime pit of politic life, if most of what you can pin on her is 1) screwing up on emails; and 2) not being completely honest with us; and 3) putting up with a philandering husband and somehow dealing with it, ..... then so what! Do you actually think a world leader should always be completely honest with everyone all the time? Really? Do you think Washington never told a lie? How about Honest Abe? Do you really believe those cockamamie myths we tell young children?
The Republicans and Tea Partyers have for years successfully painted Hillary with a tar brush of innuendo and skillful half truths. They're devilishly good at it. If you get a chance, listen to what Bill Weld, the Libertarian VP candidate, has to say about both Hillary and Trump. He claims to have known Hillary and worked with her for 40 years, and knows her to be honest and honorable. He views Trump as unstable, a bully, a fraud, and a threat to the security of our country. This is from a man who's trying to get votes for the fledgling Libertarian party.
How about Trump? He's charismatic, and maybe likable, I don't know, I've never met him. He's built up a big business and brand name. He probably tries hard to be a good father.
Let’s talk about trust and lies, ... with Trump we have a new standard in discourse. It's meaningless to say he's lying. He makes it up as he goes along. When he's caught spouting easy to disprove "facts" it doesn't matter, because we all know that that's what he does. It's silly even to check on what he claims as facts. It's kind of cute, and even funny, mostly sad. We all have a kind-of friend, or cousin, or someone in our lives like that. Big, braggart, bullshit, a man-child. All cock and no doodle. All talk but no honest doing.
He makes deals and cheats on them, doesn’t keep up his end of the deal. He goes bankrupt, repeately, leaving people who trusted him stuck with his debts. He charges other people to use his name, his "brand", and doesn't make sure they're legit. He bullies, and abuses, and sexually assaults women, because as he told us, he can.
Can this possibly be a man you want to represent us to the world as our best and, our brightest and ablest? Is he someone we can count on to make well thought out, important decisions every day, decisions that affect billions of people and all the other life forms on this planet?
I think Hillary will try hard to work to make our country a more just and tolerant society, and a good place to live. She’s a living, breathing, flawed human like us all, and by far the most capable candidate we have.
I feel for people who feel that the country is moving away from them and the values they grew up with and hold dear. But shaking things up for the sake of shaking things up isn't an acceptable choice. I see no choice but to vote for Hillary and pray most Americans do the same, for the good of ourselves, our country and our world.
OK, I've said it. I don't expect this to change anyone's vote, but remaining silent was no longer an option for me.
Please feel free to share this, and if you need a pair of 3-D glasses email me.
God help us all!
