Now Is the Time

Hi All,

This is the Myrtlewood Bowl image that I used in Pop-Up 3D. For added fun, if you've viewing this on a tablet computer, lay the tablet flat onto a table and put small objects "into" the bowl. It was shot with a Canon G2 using a home-made slide bar to control the right-eye and left-eye shots. The "target grid" was a large sheet of paper. The bowl's actual width is approximately 12".

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country *.

This past week revealed the dizzying depths that Trump, Barr, and associates are plunging our society. The rule of law and semblance of decency and fair play are under attack, as the Justice department has become the tool of the Trump administration to help their friends and punish their enemies.

Consider what's been done to Andrew McCabe, Alexander Vindman and Marie Yovanovitch, as well as a great number of other career public servants, some of whom have lately resigned in protest.

Much like the autocrats Trump admires, he now sees himself not as our president, but our dictator, and Barr not an independent Attorney General, but instead his fixer.

If you love America and what it stands for ... it's time to sit up, and look around at what's happening. It's time to think about it. It's time to talk about it. It's time to get outraged. And it's time to defend your country if you hope to keep it a free society.

* Ironically the actual text of Charles E. Weller's well known typing test was "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party." This, at very least, has been embraced by republicans in congress.
