Sandy ... and Maker Faire LA Coming Soon
Hello Friends,
Say hi to Sandy, an occasional member of the afternoon Carroll Park dog pack. I got this shot yesterday in a rare moment when Sandy wasn't off cavorting with the other dogs.
I took the shot with a Fuji W3, which is a great camera for this kind of shooting except for a couple of things. For sharpness I needed to set the autofocus to Sandy's face. Unfortunately the shutter on that camera is terribly slow, so that the shot I get is perhaps half a second after I've pressed it, so a lot of luck is involved. As with almost all shooting it becomes a matter of shoot, shoot, and shoot again, and eventually with enough shots one of them will be good.
ALERT: Fun time approaching. My favorite exhibit opportunities the past several years have been at Maker Faires. I'm happy to announte that the LA Maker Faire hosted by City of STEM is happening on Saturday April 1 from 9am to 5pm at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1245 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. With over 200 exhibits there'll be tons of hands-on activities. The Los Angeles 3D community will be there in force with an exhibit from the LA3DClub, 3D Space, and 3dDigitalPhoto.com (me). Info at https://losangeles.makerfaire.com/about/.
