Pepper -- In Loving Memory
Hello Friends,
I've known for some time that Pepper's time was coming, but I don't think that made it any easier. We didn't know Pepper's actual birthday, just sometime in early December of 2010. We got her at approximately 3 months of age in February, 2011, so we assigned a birthday of December 7, a day that lives in infamy. Her life ended on Sunday September 1, 2024, six days ago, approximately 3 months shy of 14 years old, a reasonably long life for a larger size dog.
Her healthy weight was 52-53 pounds. Around 8 months ago her blood tests indicated her kidneys weren't working well at all, and over that time she gradually withered to below 35 pounds. I've been giving her subcutaneous hydrations every 2nd or 3rd day.
Even so she kept on going, more or less the same happy girl she was all her life. She had a great number of personal relationships with neighbors and people at my softball games, and often when I was walking her stangers would stop to pet and offer her love. We will miss her.
I ordered 250 5" x 7" fold over note cards of Pepper. Today's image is on the front and on the back side are eight others that were previously image-of-the-week images. All are phantograms in anaglyph. If you'd like one please reply to this email with your name and mailing address, and I'll send you one along with a pair of anaglyph glasses.
Best regards,
Barry Rothstein
