At Eutin Castle
Hi All,
We spent a week in the city of Lübeck attending the ISU (International Stereoscopic Union) congress. We're talking about a gathering of over 200 3-D enthusiasts from all over the world gathering together in one place, with a lot of strange looking photo gear and secret handshakes (well, maybe not that). Most of the attendees are big-time into scenic vacation shots, so the number of travel-log 3-D shows was a little overwhelming for me. Mostly I look in gardens, trees or at the ground for exciting shapes, so it's little wonder that I never place well in the onsite image competitons.
This one was at shot at Eutin Castle, perhaps a 20 minute drive from Lübeck. Betsy says she thinks it's some type of lily. I got a lot of good 3-D shots there and everywhere along the way, and likely will show you more of them in the not too distant future. Once again it was shot with my Panasonic Lumix GX7 camera with 3-D lens and frame sides for phantogram processing. I masked and framed the image for effect.
As much as I'd like to avoid what's going on in the news back home, most days on this trip we'll turn to CNN, BBC, or the previous day's MSNBC clips. Once again this past week, our idiot in chief made our country look bad. Very bad. At least here I found almost unanimous agreement on that score.
Looking forward to getting home in a couple of days. Until then, ...
Barry Rothstein
