Eel Lunch - Mont Blanc for Dessert
Hello Friends,
Usually the excursions at the recent International Stereoscopic Union Congress in Japan included lunch at a nice restaurant. Here's two memorable dishes we were served.
This classic eel lunch seems to be venerated in Japan, and for good reason, sweet and delicious. I wish I could tell you more about the accompanying side dishes, I'm sure they were good.
Mont Blanc for dessert was exceptional. Per an online search ... "Mont Blanc is a classical Japanese dessert often associated with autumn, though you can now find it year-round. Mont-Blanc is a pastry made from a mountain of creamy Japanese chestnut paste. This Japanese classic has transformed the French confection, known for its strings of chestnut puree and rich taste."
I shot these with my handy Fuji W3 and used paper, the tables edge, the meal tray and other rectangular objects at hand for reference in forming these phantograms.
Wishing you well,
Barry Rothstein
I send out a weekly email of these. If you'd like to be included, please go to the contact page and send me an email.
