What is This? (and a rant)

Hi All,

What plant produces this seed pod? Please let me know. This is another image from Ulumay Wildlife Sanctuary near Cocoa Beach where we spent last weekend. Not the predominant species, I spotted these in fair frequency along the trail. This was shot with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 with a 3-D lens and frame sides for phantogram processing. The actual width of this shot is approximately 3 inches.

As to the rant, ...

So here we are, a little over two years into Trump's American Hell reality show. At his recent State of the Union speech he offered democrats in the house either "Peace and Legislation or War and Investigation." The House answered: War and Investigation. This past couple of weeks investigations have begun in the Intellegence, Financial Affairs, Judiciary, Foreign Affairs, Oversight, and Ways & Means committees.

Ready for Trump Shutdown II? Will it be the same primary victims this time, or shall we dump on a different random segment of society? Even as members of both houses of congress are trying a bi-partisan shuffle, the likelyhood is strong Trump will balk.

The walls are caving in on Trump, but it's a very slow grind. It's mostly a question of how many others he'll bring down along with him. Mostly I care about all the innocent, everyday people, us and everyone around us, who randomly will suffer because of the pathological needs of this idiot, who is inexplicably in the position to make desicions that affect us all.
