Yerba Mansa
Hi All,
On a recent hike at the El Dorado Park Nature Center in Long Beach I found quite a few of these. They're known as yerba mansa or lizard tail. They are native to northwest Mexico and the southwestern USA from California and Oregon to Oklahoma and Texas to Kansas. I took this shot with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 using frame sides for phantogram processing. The actual width of this image was approximately 2.5 inches.
This past week we saw Trump shamelessly politicize the 4th of July with himself front and center. Tanks and heavy military equipment paraded through the streets of Washington D.C., just like how dictators Trump admires and envys show off their military might. Clearly he has some big-time insecurities he needs to compensate for, not the least of which is the illegitimacy of his election.
We saw his administration continue to justify and attempt to regularize their cruel, despicable, inhumane incarceration of migrant. Despite being overruled by the courts they continue to push to include a citizenship question on the upcoming 2020 census, intended to guarantee an undercount of non-whites. This coming week we're expecting to see stepped up abduction and deportation of "illegals", including families of active service members. So let's all join in, put on our MAGA hats, bow down to our emporer, and shout out Hooray for America as we watch all that we stand for slip, slip, slip away.
