Elegant Presentation

Hi All,

This week's IOTW is a 2-fer, two images for the price of one. Both shots involved are from Miyajima. Imagine you're hot and weary from hiking this island shrine city, and have the kind fortune to find yourself at the doorway of a charming cafe overlooking a five story pagoda and adjoining temple and the Miyajima harbor area. A perfect place to sit and enjoy a drink, a cake, and the view. By the time I took this shot the cake and drink were gone, but I thought I could at least show some elements of their presentation. I'm happy to tell you of two events coming up the next two weekends. October 3-4 is San Diego Maker Faire at Balboa Park. My associate Shyam Kannapurakkaran and I will be setting up at the Museum of Photographic Arts there, shooting and exhibiting 3-D phantogram headshots. This also will be the San Diego debut of our "Sandbox" phantogram viewer, a cool new experience. Learn more about San Diego Maker Faire at sdmakerfaire.org/.

On October 10-11 Betsy and I will be part of the Long Beach Open Studio Tour, a weekend when several local Long Beach artists open their homes and studios to local art appreciators. I've checked out the tour before, but this will be our first time participating. The event is free, and you can get more info and download a brochure at lbopenstudiotour.com/.
