Another What is This?

Hi All,

Here's an interesting one I shot on the big island of Hawaii last year. So far I've not been able to find anyone to can tell me what it is. This was shot with my Panasonic Lumix GX7 with a rectangular frame for phantogram processing.

To rant or not to rant:

Like many I expect, I'm glad to see the major party conventions done and behind us, especially this past week's nasty exhibition, another example of Trump and company flouting the laws they've sworn to uphold for their own political gain. It's more than a little annoying to see our tax dollars at work to promote a Trump rally on the White House lawn. Aw, what the heck, what's a few millions bucks, and doing something everyone knows is illegal makes it all the more fun.

Just a quick look at the gathering Thursday night and we're left to understand that either the COVID-19 pandemic is behind us, or else the 1500+ tightly packed maskless republican Trumpers assembled on the White House lawn were just a bunch of irresponsible happy-go-lucky morons or else possibly members of a death cult. Notably absent from the event were most republican congressional representatives and senators.

This week saw a stark contrast in police conduct, in the one case firing several bullets into the back of a black man, Jacob Blake, as he tried to join his children in his car, in the other letting pass a white assault weapon carrying teen-ager walking away from pursuers claiming he'd shot people, Kyle Rittenhouse. Isn't it time to address this problem?

So the election is in 66 days, or 66 weeks, or 66 years. Not sure. I'm afflicted with an Ongoing Trauma Stress Disorder.
