Stray Cat at Certaldo Alto
Hi All,
I'm sending this image-of-the-week a little early, as the wifi here is good, and I'm unsure of how it will be at our Airbnb in Paris.
We've been 3 days in Rome, and a week in Tuscany at a villa near Certaldo, with five days in Paris to come before going home. For those of you heading to Tuscany, I can put in a strong recommendation for a wonderful place to stay, Villa Il Pozzo. Their website is http://www.villailpozzo.com/. It's beautiful, comfortable, reasonably priced, on a commercial winery.
Equally wonderful is a restaurant 1/2 kilometers away, where we've eaten three nights. It is Osteria Di Casa Chianti, a whose delectable local dishes and unanimous 5-star rating makes it difficult to want to eat anywhere else. Drop in and enjoy Massimilliano's food, wine and hospitality (Mama Mia!). His website is http://www.osteriadicasachianti.it/.
I shot this kitty in Certaldo Alto, a nearby medieval town of defensive walls, and ancient gates. To reach the town centre the very fit can walk. Most prefer to take a short ride on a funicular railway from the town center of Certaldo at a small cost.
This was a point and shoot shot with a Fuji W3, which I later approximated into a phantogram using environmental cues in the brickwork walk. Notice the clipped left ear. I've come to see this in cats of various localities, denoting they've been neutered.
Buena Sera!
