Mask
Hi All,
I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know the name of the artist that produced this wonderful wooden mask. His signature inside the mask is indecipherable. He's a young man living in Mexico City, and we met him where he was selling his wares near the beach in the little Mexican town of San Francisco (aka San Pancho), just a little north of Salulito on the Pacific.
Phantograms can be shot and shown vertically as well as horizontally. This can be viewed straight on, but is best a little above eye level.
For those of you who love phantograms and traditional 3-D, now might be a good time to join the ISU (International Stereoscopic Union) ($20 annual dues). They produce a wonderful quarterly publication called Stereoscopy, which is included in the membership. Recently they invited me to guest edit an edition of Stereoscopy dedicated to phantograms. Today's image is in it along with dozens of wonderful phantograms by a number or notable stereographers.
This image is a phantogram, and so I invite you to print it so you can see it properly. Enjoy!
I send out a weekly email of these. If you'd like to be included, please go to the contact page and send me an email.
