Serious Toast at the Skillet Diner -- Seattle Washington
Hi All,
We're in Seattle for a family wedding, and yesterday's breakfast was at the Skillet Diner on Capitol Hill. Their menu was more than a little imaginative, including "pork belly & corn meal waffle", "deconstructed corned beef hash", and "mike's scramble" (changes daily). I ordered Serious Toast -- molasses custard soaked - thick brioche, raspberry jam, local pit ham, powdered sugar, two eggs (I chose poached). Truly this was serious toast, and was very, very tasty. As I recall it was at least 6 inches tall. If you follow my example and eat all or most of it, plan on having at least a couple of hours to sit around and digest. Check them out at www.skillenstreetfood.com.
I took this shot cha-cha style (right image, slide, left image) with an iPhone 5C, and used a table corner and carefully placed napkin to approximate sides for phantogram processing. The upper image is a Dubois anaglyph so as to minimize retinal rivalry.
