Buddy
Hi All,
Say hi to Buddy, a regular in the Carrol Park dog pack in Long Beach. On any given day around 8am or 5pm one is likely to find 6-8 dogs running around having fun. I took this shot with a Fuji W3 and turned it into a phantogram by approximating a rectangle in the right-eye image and matching up blades of grass in the left-eye image.
This week's political revelations were rather astounding, at last moving house democrats to move to impeachment. The highlights were release of the actual whistleblower's report, backed up by released details of Trump's July 25 phone call with Ukraine's president, and the subsequent attempt by White House lawyers to cover it up.
Another telling story was new information from the Washington Post about Trump's May 2017 meeting in the Oval Office with two senior Russian officials, one day after Comey's firing. According to the an until now secret White House memo, in addition to revealing classified secrets, Trump told the Russian officials that he was unconcerned about Moscow’s interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election because the United States did the same in other countries, an assertion that prompted alarmed White House officials to limit access to the remarks to an unusually small number of people. The White House's classification of such records is now a focus of the House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry.
Much has been made of 'to impeach' or 'not to impeach', based mostly on politican considerations of whether impeaching Trump but failure in the Senate to convict him might strengthen him in the 2020 election. I very much like Lawrence Tribe's comments yesterday on the danger of not impeaching Trump for what he's done, regardless of whether or not he's convicted. Failure to bring articles of impeachment would go a long way to normalize Trump's behavior as acceptable for a US president.
