Sea Sprouts
Hello Friends,
This is one of my early nature phantograms and was included in Phantograms from Nature. I called it Sea Sprouts and it was shot in Coos Bay, Oregon. I've been back to the same spot a few times, and this sea grass was still there. This was shot with a Canon G2 with a home made slide bar using a metal rectangular frame for phantogram processing.
I arrived yesterday in Seattle to find record heat here as it reached the high 90's. Today is slated at 99 and tomorrow could reach 107 degrees fahrenheit. Very strange for this place.
We're in Seattle for a memorial for Betsy's uncle Don who passed away in January in his early 90's. An architect by profession, Don was an avid bicyclist, and led numerous bike tours across the USA and Europe. He also founded efforts in Washington state to promote sharing the road with bikers. It wasn't COVID that directly took Don's life, but like so many 2020 took away so much from the end of his life. He could no longer go every day to the senior center to exercise and socialize.
Welcome to summer, hoping you're in good shape to enjoy it.
