Reaching Out to You

Hi All,

Probably this week's image should be something scary, along a Halloween theme, but of late I find life scary enough with or without holiday symbols. I shot this at butterfly museum in Key West, Florida with a Panasonic Lumix GX7 macro camera, using frame sides and a 3-D lens. I'm not exactly sure what this plant is, but it caught my attention.

FYI, in my effort to donate significant quantities of my Phantom3DŽ books, I'll be handing out lollipops AND a book to trick-or-treaters in my neighborhood on Halloween night (10/31) from my home (corner of 6th and Ohio in Long Beach).

Once again I feel the need to speak up. I'm not up to digging in to the ever increasing list the specifics that are appauling and beyond. Not since Nixon have I felt that a president deserved to be forced from office, but this administration makes the Nixon gang look like kittens and choir boys.

Bombs and Trumpenkriegers aside, and now embracing the 'nationalist' title, the president continues to project his nasty discourse onto his opponents, following the script of the Big Lie - say something often enough and in enough ways, and some people will believe it.

Our ability to use words to express out experiences and meaning of our lives is to many people sacred, as is the truth of our words. To Trump and a growing number of his followers and enablers, words are just blunt tools to manipulate fools, means to and end, and otherwise meaningless. Truth is irrelevant, an realm of fantasy to entertain small children. Only winning matters.

Voting in this country is also by many considered sacred, and so. Despite shameless and well documented efforts by Republicans to suppress voting or mold it to their unfair advantage, perhaps, just perhaps they've gone too far. Perhaps they've brought us to a point where enough of us are disgusted and angry, and better yet, motivated to vote against this evil.

I urge you to VOTE for Democrats this year, and urge others to do the same, even if you're a Republican or Libertarian or Green or Independent or whatever. I'm not a Democrat, but only by voting Democrats into a majority in the House and hopefully the Senate will we be able to check Trump's power and start to turn around this blight on democracy and our American values.
